The Homeschool Mother's Journal
In my life this week…
Preparing for family to arrive in 2 weeks. Getting the house ready and trying to organize, sort and clean, not my favorite things to do:(
In our homeschool this week…
Kids and I are tying up some loose ends for school so that when family does arrive we can take time off school and relax and spend time with our family. We are are continuing with our WWII studies in order to prepare for our Normandy trip in 4 weeks.
My favorite thing this week…
As always being with my family. We had a super weekend last week it is just nice to be together and happy.
What’s working/not working for us…
Everything is working out right now. We are trying a piano teacher for piano lessons and I am amazed how well the children are doing. The teacher is pushing each of child and they are raising to the challenge even though they have left me far, far behind.
Homeschool questions/thoughts I have…
No questions this week as everything is going smoothly with our studies. I am looking forward to having family here and taking a break from official schooling for a month. We will resume school once our family returns home as we school year round:)
A photo, video, link, or quote to share…

I hope all the preparations are going well for your family's visit! I'm glad your HS days are going smoothly too. Have a great weekend and Happy Early Mother's Day :)
ReplyDeleteI get so stressed right before family arrives. It will be nice to relax with them when they are there. I hope all goes well in your preparations. Remember to breath. Happy Mother's day! Thank you so much for helping to spread the word about my giveaway. God bless you!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting that you are doing a Normandy trip! We just got back from a holiday in England and it was like a living history lesson for my daughter. That is one of the best things about homeschool..the flexibility to travel and all the hands on learning the kids get to do. Be sure and post lots of pictures of your upcoming trip. stopping by from the HMJ linky. Blessings, Katie
ReplyDeleteHappy Saturday!
ReplyDeleteClicked a vote for you on the PF :) Have a great day!
I so understand not wanting to clean and organize. I wanted to work on switching out winter and summer clothes today, but decided to take advantage of the sunshine and painted instead outside all afternoon.
ReplyDeleteHope your visit with your family goes well!!! You have lots of exciting places to visit.

Hi Lynda,
ReplyDeletehappy Mother's day to you as well:). If I was better at keeping organized I would be rushing around like a mad woman cleaning right now:) I will never learn:(
Hi Katie,
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you made it to Buckingham Palace to see the wedding. We talked about it but I don't do large crowds well. Your family saw quite a bit of England while here, we need need to make it to Jane's house before we leave.
Stop back by as I will have lots of pictures of Normandy when we visit.
Renita,
ReplyDeleteI saw the changes you were making on your house trim and it looks great! Happy Mother's day to you
Have fun with your family! It's great that you are able to take a break from homeschooling while they are visiting. Of course, your kids will keep on learning regardless!
