Weekly Wrap UP 2/7/2020-- music performances and a minor fender bender

Both kids participated in a Sonatina Festival at a local college and earned Superior Performance awards and got a trophy to add to their collection of other piano trophies.

Mario Fan also attended the symphony performance of Sleeping Beauty for his music appreciation class.
We got there in time to here the lecture about the composers  and every time we have gone to a morning performance they have krispy kreme doughnuts for free:)

We heard Schuman, Manfred Overture; Mendelsssohn, Piano Concerto No 2; and Tchaikovsky, The Sleeping Beauty Suite op. 66
Afterward the performance we took the boys out to lunch and then headed to the Science center to see a special exhibition.  More on that next post:)

Firedrake had her first minor fender bender this past weekend, luckily she is fine and it resulted in a couple of minor scratches on the car.  The other person car has some minor damage but also not injured, which is the most important thing.  Thankfully the lady that she bumped into was very kind and didn't yell at her.  The minute she got home though she cried her eyes out for a few minutes before realizing it wasn't the end of the world.  Both her Dad and I remained very calm and matter of fact about the whole thing so that helped her settle down.  The next day my husband was at work and told some colleagues about Firedrake's first car accident and he heard horror stories of their children.  One colleague's son totaled 3 cars within the first year of driving, when my husband told my daughter that story she felt much better about her minor accident.

I finally got 2 of my stain glass bird branches up in the window.  I still have two more to assemble and get up on the other window.  I just need to find the time:)

That is our week in a nutshell.
