Weekly Wrap Up 6/3/22-- Happy 18th Birthday and Our New house

This week my younger is turning 18!  He will always be my baby and I am so very proud of how far he has come.  Lots of personal growth and to see him going off to college in a the fall is wonderful and heart wrenching at the same time.  For his Birthday he wanted to go to the Melting pot for dinner (we found one in our new home state), go to the local amusement park (he loves them) and before we left MO my husband took him to see one last Cardinal game splurging on a party box.

Happy Birthday MarioFan -  Mom and Dad love you to the moon and back.  So proud of you and looking forward to where he go in the future!

My husband and eldest went out mid May to do the final home inspection on our new home.  As for the new build progress the project manager continued to send pictures of nearly every stage so here are the pictures of the house build.

Kitchen cabinets installed

Plumbing fixtures are installed

We chose to go with all black fixtures throughout the house.

Kitchen granite counter tops -- still waiting for the back splash to be tiled at this point
Garage door installed
Drive way and sidewalks being poured

Love our Red Door

Grading of the yard and awaiting landscaping and the cement areas to be painted.
gas fireplace

covered porch is finished -- we plan on making this much bigger and screening in a portion of it once the lumber prices go down

all appliances have been delivered and installed

carpeting has been completed in the areas where there will be carpeting.

Tiles back splash and under cabinet lighting added

sod has been put down in the back yard-- we will be putting up a fence this summer for our dog

Landscaped front yard -- it is simple and I am sure I will be making changes just not this year!

So we closed on the house a couple days ago and our furniture arrives today and then the unpacking begins.  Kids are getting summer jobs and then going off to college.   My husband and I are officially retired from our jobs.  We are excited to see what our future holds.  Right now we are just putting our new home in order and then we want to plan a trip somewhere
